Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to direct a crew on on-site arboriculture projects across the Attica, MI area. The role emphasizes safe leadership, climbing systems (DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS), and mentoring colleagues in Davey’s career development program.

Responsibilities include pruning, removal, installation of cables and protection systems, and operating a range of tools and equipment.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and safety awareness are required.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program after hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course after hire.
• Preferred licenses and certificates in pesticides and related fields.
• Preferred professional certifications: ISA Arborist, ISA Tree Worker, TCIA Tree Care Safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew and equipment to perform assigned arboreal tasks.
• Train and mentor crew members through Davey Career Development Program.
• Perform pruning, thinning, removal and installation of support systems as needed.
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and related gear.
