Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Gaithersburg, MD seeks a Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to direct a crew and manage equipment while delivering arboricultural care for clients on site. The role emphasizes safety, hands-on climbing systems (DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS), and professional growth in a leading tree-care team.

Office is outdoors with opportunities for advancement; required orientation and safety training are provided on hire, with licenses preferred.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®

Responsibilities

• Directs crew members and equipment and plans and executes assigned work.
• Lead a crew safely and productively in arboricultural care for clients.
• Perform pruning, thinning and removal of deadwood in the canopy, install cables/bracing/lightning protection.
• Mentor crew members through the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts.
