Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Wilmington, DE is seeking a climbing arborist crew leader for a full-time, permanent role. You will direct a crew, plan tasks, and perform arboricultural work to protect and beautify client properties in outdoor settings.

Expect hands-on duties with climb systems (DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS), pruning, cabling, and removal. You will mentor crew members through Davey’s career development program while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist , ISA Certified Tree Worker , and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional

Responsibilities

• Lead a crew safely and productively to provide arboricultural care for clients.
• Perform pruning, thinning and removal of deadwood in the canopy.
• Install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems as needed.
• Remove hazardous trees when required and mentor crew members through career development.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and lifts.
