Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a dynamic Climbing Arborist Crew Leader to join our team in the United States. Your office is outdoors, with daily changes in view as you lead a crew in arboricultural care for clients and safety is a core focus.

You will direct crew members and equipment, plan and execute tasks, and mentor junior staff through the Davey Career Development Program while utilizing various climbing systems and safety gear.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors and physical work in varied conditions.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses and arborist certifications.

Responsibilities

• Directs crew members and equipment to plan and execute assigned work.
• Lead a crew in arboricultural care for clients with safety as a priority.
• Oversee jobsite hazards, plan, equipment usage, and PPE implementation.
• Perform pruning, thinning, and removal of deadwood in canopies.
• Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection.
• Mentor crew via the Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and related gear.
