Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Mokena, IL is seeking a crew leader to direct arborist work and manage equipment. The position starts at $30 per hour and offers safety training, benefits, and opportunities for career development.

Responsibilities include planning tasks, mentoring crew members, climbing trees with DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS, pruning, installing cables, and ensuring safe, productive client service across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Interest in outdoor work and nature.
• Able to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Able to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Pesticide licenses and related certifications.
• Preferred: ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.
• CDL B or greater is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Directs crew members and equipment; plans and executes assigned work.
• Lead a crew safely to provide arboricultural care for clients.
• Mentor crew through Davey Career Development Program.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
