Job summary

N3B is seeking a Professional Civil / Structural Engineer 3/4 to support the design team as a lead design engineer on projects in Los Alamos, NM. Responsibilities include developing plans and specifications, mentoring engineers, and coordinating with multiple disciplines to complete projects.

The ideal candidate will be licensed, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment while ensuring safety and security standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited college/university.
• Three years in responsible charge of civil/structural engineering work (Level 2) or five years (Level 3) in responsible charge.

Responsibilities

• Perform field investigations and assessments; prepare drawings and visual aids.
• Drafting/figure development using technical software as required.
• Apply established criteria to perform assigned tasks.
• Design civil/structural projects; check work of staff and engineers.
• Mentor and train junior engineering staff.
• Prepare or modify reports, specifications, plans, and procedures; apply strong analytical thinking.
• Understand and apply industry codes and standards.
• Experience with Autodesk design platforms, preferably Civil3D.
