Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking a Site Design Project Engineer in Hancock, MI for a growing engineering and land development consulting firm. Hybrid schedule available. The role emphasizes civil site development design, client engagement, and leadership on private-sector projects across residential, commercial, and industrial markets.

Qualified candidates should have civil site development experience, strong client-facing skills, and a PE license or equivalent experience. Travel ~10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• PE license preferred; extensive experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil site design for land development and redevelopment projects.
• Provide technical guidance to project managers.
• Oversee schedules, budgets, QC processes, and deliverables.
• Prepare and review engineering plans, specs, reports, and construction documents.
• Develop grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, roadways, and site improvements.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development.
• Travel to client sites for project visits (≈10%).
