Job summary

Charlotte County seeks a licensed professional to lead major construction programs for a County division. You will plan, direct, and coordinate projects from design to closeout, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and high standards.

You will evaluate needs, develop design solutions, and prepare accurate cost estimates while liaising with departments, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies. You will manage contracts, grants, permits, and reports, and provide engineering services

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required; Civil Engineering preferred.
Five (5) years of engineering experience with lead or supervisory duties.
Licensure as a Registered Professional Engineer in Civil Engineering; Florida registration within six months is anticipated.

Responsibilities

Plan, direct, and coordinate large-scale construction programs.
Identify and develop new projects by evaluating needs and preparing accurate cost estimates.
Coordinate with County departments, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies and the public.
Oversee consultants, manage contracts and grants, and prepare permits and reports.
Provide long-range capital improvement planning and annual budget input.
Lead and develop a team of professionals while ensuring quality and standards.
