Job summary

Kimley-Horn’s McKinney, TX office is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the Water/Wastewater and Utilities team. This not a remote role entails designing water transmission systems, pumping stations, and treatment facilities while leading project tasks and coordinating with clients and regulators.

With 4+ years of experience and a PE license (or plan to obtain within 12 months), you will mentor staff, uphold quality standards, and contribute to multi-disciplinary projects.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of engineering design experience.
• Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
• Municipal engineering experience including pump stations, pipelines, water/wastewater facilities.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling using WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWater, etc.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong sense of urgency to produce high quality work.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Entrepreneurial spirit with potential to lead a practice and manage clients and a team.

Responsibilities

• Design water transmission and distribution systems, pumping stations, conveyance systems, water treatment facilities, and related master planning.
• Manage project tasks, design work, permitting, and construction coordination.
• Communicate with clients, government entities, and regulators to meet project requirements.
• Ensure quality through review of plans and coordination with staff.
• Develop work plans and manage budgets set by clients.
• Attend meetings and provide progress updates to stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, budgets, and schedules.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external clients.
