Job summary

King County Department of Local Services, Permitting Division, is seeking two Engineer III to lead a multidisciplinary team and oversee commercial and/or residential projects. You will review development applications, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and manage projects with a focus on equity and customer service.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, a professional license or EIT, and strong communication and project management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in civil engineering or equivalent experience.
• Professional License in Civil Engineering or Engineer in Training.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering discipline.
• Advanced policy and code analysis and development.
• Ability to convey technical information to the public and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Lead for a project team by planning, directing, and monitoring daily work on development applications.
• Providing feedback to the product line manager regarding team performance; contribute to evaluations.
• Conduct final quality control review of development applications for compliance with codes, standards, and best practices.
• Review development applications independently for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
• Act as project manager for assigned projects and coordinate revisions with senior staff.
