Job summary

UAB Facilities seeks a Major Systems Supervisor for Chilled Water Maintenance to lead the upkeep of chilled water plants, equipment, and control systems. You will provide technical leadership, oversee 24/7 maintenance, and collaborate on outages and system restorations across campus.

You will supervise a team of mechanics and technicians, manage work orders in CMMS, and ensure safety compliance, documentation, and reliable utility operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field with 4+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent substitutions.
• EPA Section 608 Technician Certification (Type II or Universal) preferred.
• OSHA 30-hour Certification or equivalent safety training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for chilled water plants and systems.
• Supervise Chiller Mechanics, Central Plant Repairers, Instrument and Control Technicians.
• Plan and manage maintenance via CMMS, including work orders and reporting.
• Coordinate outages, repairs, and system restoration with operations and contractors.
• Ensure compliance with EH&S standards and safe work practices.
