Job summary

Pyramid Hotel Group is seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead all engineering, maintenance, and facility operations for a luxury hotel at the University of Florida campus. This role ensures safe, efficient operation of building systems and preventive maintenance, while delivering an exceptional guest experience.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of engineering/maintenance leadership in hospitality, with strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life-safety systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive engineering, facilities maintenance, or building operations experience.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, boilers, chillers, generators, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience managing vendors, contractors, budgets, and capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of all hotel facilities, guest rooms, public areas, meeting spaces, restaurants, fitness facilities, grounds, and back-of-house operations.
• Ensure proper operation of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, boiler, chiller, generator, water treatment, and life safety systems.
• Conduct routine property inspections to ensure safety, functionality, appearance, and compliance standards are met.
• Respond to operational issues and emergency situations as needed.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Engineering team through training, performance management, and professional development.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional service.
