Job summary

Chess Wizards, Inc. is seeking a Lead Teacher Trainer in Houston, TX to lead after-school chess classes for 10–15 elementary students and to help train other instructors.

The role requires reliable transportation and a strong grasp of chess fundamentals, with additional coaching and quality control duties across multiple sites. Responsibilities include scheduling coordination with area management, welcoming feedback from parents and schools, and maintaining professional communication throughout

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with groups of children.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain piece movement, strategy and tactics.
• Availability after school hours at least 4 days per week (prefer 5).
• Reliable transportation to reach multiple classes across the Houston metro area.

Responsibilities

• Lead interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Assist in training, development, and coaching of other instructors.
• Coordinate with Area Manager and school administration for scheduling and quality.
• Attend to class setup, conduct, and post-class responsibilities while ensuring safety.
