Job summary

HMR Veterans Services is seeking a Charge Nurse to lead daily nursing activities in our long-term care setting for veterans. You will supervise staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate admissions, transfers, and care plans.

Qualifications

• Nursing degree or approved LN program graduate with an active state LN license.
• At least one year of supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of long-term care laws, regulations, and guidelines.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily nursing activities to ensure high-quality care and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee resident admissions, discharges, and room transfers; coordinate with families and funeral homes as needed.
• Monitor staffing levels, attendance, and performance; participate in evaluations and hiring decisions.
• Maintain accurate nursing documentation and ensure care plans are followed.
• Notify families and physicians of significant condition changes; address concerns per procedures.
• Lead orientation, infection control, and ensure PPE and a safe environment.
