Job summary

Jerome Home in New Britain, CT is seeking an experienced Charge Nurse to oversee nursing care on your unit during your shift. You will supervise CNAs, collaborate with physicians, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations to deliver high-quality resident care.

Responsibilities include directing daily nursing activities, maintaining safety standards, documentation, and participating in care conferences.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved RN or LPN program.
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN or LPN in this state.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with staff.
• Must have the ability to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform CPR and emergency medical treatment.

Responsibilities

• Direct the day-to-day nursing activities in accordance with policies and guidelines.
• Attend required committee meetings and report on nursing service programs.
• Delegate duties to CNAs and supervise shift assignments.
• Make rounds to ensure CNA tasks meet nursing standards.
• Coordinate care plans, document reports, and communicate with supervisors.
• Ensure safety, infection control, and compliance with regulations.
