Job summary

Billings Flying Service, Inc. seeks an experienced Pilot-In-Command to lead safe flight operations and ensure compliance with FAA regulations and BFS policies. The PIC will oversee crew supervision, training support, and aviation duties under the Chief Pilot, including flight planning and SMS participation.

Domestic and international assignments may be required. A strong regulatory background, extensive PIC time, and CH-47D experience are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• PIC must maintain thorough knowledge of BFS policies and procedures and uphold core values.
• Deep knowledge of FAA regulations, OPS specs, flight manuals and BFS manuals.
• Minimum 3500 total time, 2500 PIC, 1500 Turbine; Tandem Rotor time a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety of flight and act as PIC with final authority on decisions.
• Maintain supervisory duties of field crews and issue directives as needed.
• Assist and conduct OJT for training and audits as directed by Chief Pilot.
• Participate in pilot training when qualified.
• Support SMS and report hazards or incidents; follow Safety Policy.
• Review flight assignments and obtain briefing information.
• Prepare flight plans considering altitude, terrain, weather, weight and nav aids.
• Ensure aircraft is preflighted, loaded, equipped and manned appropriately.
• Comply with duty/time limitations and proper certification/rest requirements.
• Verify all required forms/equipment are aboard prior to flight.
• Record mechanical issues and inform maintenance personnel.
• Verify compliance with MEL and regulatory requirements before flight.
• Uphold CFR 91.3 responsibilities and authority.
