Qualifications

• Credential required: CPC/COC/CCS/CCS-P/RHIT/RHIA.
• Associate's degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of coding experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Apply ICD-10-CM, CPT, and modifiers to reflect documentation.
• Code inpatient and outpatient services using coding software.
• Abstract required data elements as defined by management.
• Communicate coding issues with providers and submit queries.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to support accurate reimbursement.
• Provide guidance on coding questions and billing edits.
• Maintain coding accuracy rate 95%+ and meet productivity goals.
• Adhere to HIPAA and protect PHI.
