Qualifications

• Certifications include RHIT, RHIA, COC, CIC, CCA, CCS/CCS-A, CPC/CPC-A, or AAPC physician specialty cert.
• Associate's degree in health information management or medical coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review outpatient records to assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure coding accuracy and regulatory compliance for payer policies.
• Collaborate with billing to prepare and submit claims and resolve denials.
• Clarify documentation with providers to ensure correct code assignment.
• Stay current on coding updates and payer requirements.
• Communicate via telephone and email using hospital systems.
