Job summary

HCA Florida Englewood Hospital is seeking a Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician to ensure sterile instruments are clean, safe, and ready for procedures. You will lead the Sterile Processing team, maintain compliance, and support a high-quality surgical environment in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires a strong knowledge of sterilization, 1-2 years of experience, and current CBSPD or HSPA certification. Join a team dedicated to compassionate care and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience; Lead or Supervisory level experience is strongly preferred.
• Current certification (CBSPD or HSPA).

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and trays to ensure every tool works properly and is ready for patient care.
• Operating and maintaining sterilization equipment, while keeping detailed records of sterilization cycles, safety checks, and quality standards.
• Preparing surgical sets and case carts by reviewing daily schedules and gathering the right instruments and supplies for each procedure.
• Managing inventory, organizing supplies in OR storage areas, and working closely with the surgical team to help keep surgeries run smoothly and on time.
• Leading and training the Sterile Processing team, sharing updates on new equipment and processes, and setting a positive example to support a safe, high-quality environment where teamwork thrives.
