Job summary

HCA Florida Englewood Hospital is seeking a Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician to serve as a safety expert and team lead in the sterile processing department. You will ensure instruments are clean, sterilized, and ready for surgical use while mentoring staff.

You will supervise and train teammates, review schedules, and maintain records of cycles and safety checks. This role emphasizes precision, teamwork, and delivering reliable equipment for patient care.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of sterilization supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience; Lead or Supervisory level experience is strongly preferred.
• Current certification (CBSPD or HSPA).

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing surgical instruments and trays to ensure every tool works properly and is ready for patient care.
• Operating and maintaining sterilization equipment, while keeping detailed records of sterilization cycles, safety checks, and quality standards.
• Preparing surgical sets and case carts by reviewing daily schedules and gathering the right instruments and supplies for each procedure.
• Managing inventory, organizing supplies in OR storage areas, and working closely with the surgical team to help keep surgeries run smoothly and on time.
• Leading and training the Sterile Processing team, sharing updates on new equipment and processes, and setting a positive example to support a safe, high‑quality environment where teamwork thrives.
