Job summary

HCA Florida Aventura Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for surgeries. You will support patient care by maintaining strict safety standards and coordinating with nurses and surgeons to optimize operating room efficiency.

The role requires high school graduation, sterile processing education, and certification or plan to obtain within six months.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and organize instruments per safety standards.
• Monitor sterilization cycles, document results, and resolve issues promptly.
• Prepare instrument trays and surgical rooms according to daily schedule.
• Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials and maintain a clean area.
• Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to support smooth surgeries.

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

• High School Graduate / GED
• Graduate from a Sterile Processing Technician school.
• Current Sterile Processing Technician Certification or agreement to obtain within 6 months of employment.
