Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Supervisor for Central Sterile Processing at the Ahuja Medical Center in Beachwood, OH. The role involves overseeing decontamination, sterilization, storage, and limited distribution of patient care supplies, while developing policies, procedures and quality standards.

You will lead a team, manage resources and budget, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain inventory controls, with emphasis on PHI protection and accreditation readiness.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of successful and progressively responsible experience in inventory management, sterile processing, instrument management, case cart make-up and supervision of employees with demonstrated leadership ability in a medical center.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers & co-workers.
• Demonstrates progressive leadership and effective management through building a strong team and supporting a learning culture.
• Allocates resources effectively and manages departmental budget.
• Supervises the decontamination, sterilization, storage, and limited distribution of patient care supplies and equipment. This includes the development of departmental policies, standard operating procedures, quality standards and workflows.
• Supervises the department’s inventory control practices.
• Collects, monitors & maintains departmental statistics to ensure compliance with all accreditation, local, state, and federal regulations.
• Ability to work within the central sterile processing work stream as needed to support the business
• Additional work duties as needed
