Job summary

Aurora in Pittsburgh, PA seeks a Central Development Operations Team Lead to organize and drive a high-velocity testing program. You will lead a 24/7 team, ensuring smooth scheduling, tool readiness, and rapid escalation of issues across engineering, product and operations.

Emphasis on safety, data integrity, and proactive risk management. You will become an expert on Aurora’s internal tools, mentor staff, and push continuous improvements while maintaining an approach that values decisive action

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of leadership experience with remote or distributed teams.
• 3+ years in remote assistance, fleet ops, or similar high-tempo tech environments.
• Experience leading through site launches or a 24/7 expansion.
• Strong judgment and communication for high-pressure decisions.
• Ability to quickly learn complex proprietary software tools.
• Proven ability to identify bugs or UI/UX gaps and report feedback.
• Willingness to work hours in office; scheduling flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Central Development Specialists supporting scheduling and execution of development testing across a 24/7 operation.
• Become certified on internal Aurora tools to support and serve as SME on data integrity and testing quality.
• Maintain master-level understanding of Aurora’s internal toolset; act as final escalation point for complex hurdles.
• Support safety culture and encourage proactive problem hunting rather than checkbox checking.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product and Operations partners with a Win Together mindset.
• Facilitate seamless daily handoffs across regions and shifts; escalate blockers to stakeholders.
• Document performance feedback and blockers in 1:1s; ensure high documentation standards.
• Drive continuous process improvement and side projects to enhance development readiness.
• Identify tooling friction or edge cases during testing that could pose future risks.
• Provide direct support in daily scheduling and incident response with calm, decisive actions.
