You will respond to questions, match prices, and assist with checkout coverage. The position requires high school level education or equivalent, with prior cashier experience and familiarity with store technology.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using a computer.
• Less than 1 Year Experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets.
• 1 Year Retail experience as a cashier.
• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law.

Responsibilities

• Provides SMART customer service at all times through Lowe's customer service policies, procedures and programs.
• Seeks out customers to understand needs and assists in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Listens to and responds to customer and employee questions by guiding them through projects when necessary.
• Communicates information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, features, benefits, applications, and warranties.
• Coaches, trains, and provides feedback to associates in departmental duties or sales opportunities.
• Uses a cash register to process sales transactions, returns, and refunds per company guidelines.
• Provides proper monetary change to Front End associates for register activities.
• Removes security tags, verifies product information, and bags merchandise.
• Assists in line vesting to speed checkout and opens additional registers to ensure coverage.
• Prepares register area at shift start/end and checks functionality of registers and scanners.
• Inspects returned merchandise for damages.
• Enters and submits customer orders, prints order tickets, verifies receipts, and signs loading tickets.
• Looks up product information and competitor prices for price match.
• Records all items used in the store on the store use lists.
• Completes cash counting and daily reconciliation duties.
• Monitors cash in drawer and cash recycler levels.
• Monitors entrances/exits and assists with alarms.
• Detects signs of shoplifting and communicates them to management/Asset Protection.
• Ensures housekeeping and safety standards to maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Maintains a safe and secure work environment and conducts daily safety reviews.
• Adheres to safety requirements and uses of safety devices.
• Operates store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, POS devices, CCTV, copiers, computers).
• Performs other duties as assigned.
