General Summary & Scope

The Lead Cashier (LC) is responsible for the efficiency of guest transactions and maintaining excellence in cashwrap standards, including cleanliness and overall aesthetics. Experienced in cashiering, the LC assists in training new cashiers and cross-training other associates, demonstrating the ability to proactively collaborate, lead, and influence peers. This position drives loyalty results, including credit, through performance, people, and process focus. The Lead Cashier supports the leadership team with register functions, associate exit inspections, and cashier chat ins/outs, requiring a passion for guest experience, process excellence, and delivering results by engaging guests in our Loyalty Life Cycle.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Performance: Contribute to meeting or exceeding store goals related to retail and service sales, loyalty, and shrink.
  2. Guest Service: Ensure exceptional service by greeting guests, personalizing service, and recommending products/services.
  3. Sales Handling: Handle sales, refunds, exchanges courteously.
  4. Product Demonstrations: Pair guests with associates for makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demos to drive sales.
  5. In-store Support: Book appointments, support in-store events, and maintain cashwrap displays and supplies.
  6. Attendance: Maintain prompt, regular attendance.
People
  1. Support an inclusive environment for teammates and guests.
  2. Assist in training new cashiers and cross-training associates.
  3. Engage and influence peers to achieve performance goals.
  4. Drive accountability and participate in ongoing training.
  5. Collaborate with team members to grow the business.
Process
  1. Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
  2. Adhere to dress code.
  3. Complete transactions and control cash/media according to policies.
  4. Perform register opening/closing as directed.
  5. Maintain store cleanliness and safety standards.
  6. Protect assets and minimize loss.
  7. Perform other operational tasks as needed.
Job Qualifications
Education
  • High school diploma preferred.
Experience
  • 2 years relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to delegate, multi-task, problem-solve.
  • Passion for guest service and sales.
  • Experience in exceeding sales goals and training.
Skills
  • Proficiency with POS systems and technology.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Build and maintain customer relationships.
  • React under pressure, adapt, and use good judgment.
Special Position Requirements
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays.
  • Must be 18+ years old.
Working Conditions
