Job summary

Greenier Builders, Inc. in York, Maine is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to lead carpentry from framing through finish on custom homes.

The role targets ownership of workmanship, quality, and on-site leadership for a team of carpenters. The ideal candidate has extensive residential carpentry experience, strong framing/finish skills, and the ability to read detailed architectural plans, coordinate with project teams, and mentor others.

Qualifications

• Approximately 15 years of residential construction/carpentry experience preferred.
• Extensive experience with custom or high-end residential construction.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and sequencing.
• Excellent framing and finish carpentry skills.
• Ability to read and interpret detailed architectural plans.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems in the field.
• Ability to lead, teach, and mentor other carpenters.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform carpentry work throughout all phases of custom home construction.
• Oversee day-to-day carpentry activities on the jobsite.
• Read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and construction details.
• Perform and oversee framing, siding, windows, doors, trim, and finish carpentry.
• Establish accurate layout and ensure work is completed to plans and specifications.
• Coordinate daily work with Project Managers and other members of the construction team.
• Direct and mentor Carpenter's Helpers and less-experienced carpenters.
• Monitor workmanship, quality, and jobsite organization.
• Help coordinate materials, deliveries, and jobsite logistics.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized jobsite.
• Represent Greenier Builders professionally with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Greenier Builders, Inc. is a custom home builder based in York, Maine, specializing in high-quality custom homes throughout Southern Maine.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have approximately 10 years of residential construction experience, with a strong background in custom home building and the ability to lead carpentry work from framing through finish.

This is a key position within our company for an experienced carpenter who takes ownership of their work, understands the details of quality construction, and can lead others by example.
