Job summary

Great Northern Builders, Inc. is seeking a Lead Carpenter to oversee residential remodeling and new build projects.

You will lead by example on job sites, mentor apprentices, read blueprints, and coordinate with Project Managers to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on residential carpentry experience including remodeling and finish work.
• Experience leading small crews or working independently on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of framing, trim, cabinetry, and building systems.

• Professional communication with clients and coworkers.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all work meets company standards for quality and detail.


• Assist in material take-offs, ordering, and job site setup as needed.


• Identify and resolve on-site challenges efficiently and safely.


• Represent Great Northern Builders' values in every client and team interaction.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on residential carpentry experience, including remodeling and finish work.


• Experience leading small crews or working independently on complex projects.


• Strong knowledge of framing, trim, cabinetry, and building systems.


• Ability to read plans, problem-solve in the field, and maintain exceptional attention to detail.


• Professional, respectful communication skills with clients and coworkers.


• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.


• OSHA certification or safety training a plus.


• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in varying conditions.

Salary & Benefits

• Full-time, W-2 position


• $30-$38/hour, depending on experience, plus discretionary bonuses


• Paid Time Off: 2 weeks to start; additional PTO after 2 years


• Paid Holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving + Friday after, Christmas Day, and half-day Christmas Eve


• Retirement: SIMPLE IRA with 3% company match (after 90 days)


• Health Insurance: Up to $500/month toward premium
