Job summary

Pat Scales Remodeling in Columbus, OH seeks an experienced Lead Carpenter who blends hands-on craftsmanship with team leadership. This working leadership role balances on-site carpentry with guiding a crew to complete projects safely, on time, and to exacting standards.

You will read blueprints, supervise framing, cabinetry, trim, and finish work, mentor apprentices, coordinate with managers and trade partners, and uphold The PSR Way through quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of residential carpentry, remodeling, or construction experience.
• Previous experience leading carpentry crews or supervising field teams.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction methods and remodeling practices.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of building codes and job site safety requirements.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to travel between job sites.
• Smartphone for project communication and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate carpentry crews on residential remodeling projects.
• Assign daily tasks and keep projects moving according to schedule.
• Mentor apprentice and junior carpenters, helping them develop their technical skills and workmanship.
• Foster a safe, productive, and professional job site culture.
• Perform framing, cabinetry installation, trim carpentry, finish work, and other skilled carpentry tasks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project specifications.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Production Managers, subcontractors, and trade partners.
• Ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available and used efficiently.
• Maintain accurate job site documentation including labor hours and material usage.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site.
