Job summary

The Cleary Company in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a skilled Lead Carpenter to manage and execute high‑quality residential construction projects. You will report to the Project Manager, oversee a crew of carpenters and subcontractors, and ensure work meets our quality standards and client expectations.

This is a full‑time in‑person role that emphasizes hands‑on carpentry plus project management, safety, and clear communication with clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years carpentry experience, with 2+ years in lead or supervisory role.
• Proficient in demolition, framing, drywall finishing, finishing, and install.
• Strong project management and multi-project coordination.
• Excellent leadership and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, supervise carpentry tasks from start to finish.
• Lead a crew, provide direction and training.
• Read blueprints and interpret drawings to guide construction processes.
• Inspect work to meet quality standards and codes.
• Estimate materials, order supplies, and manage inventory.
• Troubleshoot site challenges and implement solutions.
• Promote safety and maintain a clean, compliant job site.
• Maintain clear communication with clients and subcontractors.
• Motivate the team to improve performance and timeliness.
