Job summary

Home Instead is seeking Lead Caregivers in the greater Pittsburgh area to -be the first impression for clients and families, delivering compassionate, high-quality in-home care. You will build relationships, coordinate with families, and ensure smooth transitions to ongoing caregivers.

The role requires extensive caregiving experience, weekday availability with weekend on-call, reliable transportation, and flexibility across homes with various environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years professional caregiving experience; active CNA/HHA/LPN/RN credential preferred.
• Open weekday availability and rotate weekend on-call shifts.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel up to 60 minutes to client homes.
• Comfortable working in different home environments: stairs/elevators, pets, or smoking.
• Ability to accept shifts on short notice.
• Ability to meet physical requirements: mobility and personal care.
• Pass background check, drug screening, and required assessments.
• Available for 60 hours per week to qualify for guaranteed 40 full-time hours.
• Valid driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, professional care to older adults in their homes.
• Assist with personal care, mobility, transfers, companionship, meals, and daily routines.
• Support clients with dementia care and end-of-life care needs.
• Help with new client starts to create a smooth and positive care experience and assist with transitioning clients to ongoing caregivers.
• Review care plans and visit notes to understand each client’s needs and preferences.
• Provide hands-on support, guidance, and encouragement to other caregivers.
• Step in for urgent or last-minute shift coverage to help prevent gaps in care.
• Communicate professionally with clients, families, office staff, and caregivers.

What You’ll Do

Pay & Benefits

• $20.00–$22.00/hr, depending on experience
• $800–$880/week before taxes at 40 hours per week

Work Area

This role supports clients in homes across the greater Pittsburgh area, including Pittsburgh neighborhoods and surrounding communities. Because client homes may be spread across both city and suburban areas, this position requires reliable transportation, flexibility, and comfort planning travel between assignments when needed.

Because client needs can change quickly, this position requires professionalism, dependability, and a strong commitment to high‑quality senior care.
