Job summary

UHA University Health Associates seeks an Advanced Practice Professional to lead the Heart and Vascular Institute - Cardiothoracic Surgery team. This role coordinates clinical care, education, and scope-of-practice adherence for NP or PA within CT surgery.

The position requires WV licensure eligibility, national APRN/PA certification, and at least three years in cardiothoracic surgery. Exempt, full-time, with cross-site collaboration and ongoing staff development.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CCNE accredited nursing program with a master’s degree in nursing.
• National Certification by one of the APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as an APRN in West Virginia.
• AHA BLS certification with ALS training as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage inpatient APP personnel to ensure credentialed, competent workforce.
• Promote cooperative problem solving and effective leadership within the division.
• Develop and implement ongoing educational programs for staff and new employees.
• Ensure adequate APP coverage in inpatient settings.
• Maintain effective communication with Medical Staff, patients, and departments.
• Plan, organize, and evaluate the delivery of care in line with standards.
