Job summary

Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer Lead to independently perform echocardiograms and coordinate staffing in hospital-based and pediatric settings. You will act as a liaison between sonographers and leadership and contribute to accreditation and quality assurance projects.

You will guide scheduling, provide feedback on staff performance, and support ongoing staff development under leadership.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Sonography preferred.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• RCS or RDCS certification required.
• 5-7 years of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Advanced Cardiac Sonography Operations.
• Perform all Cardiac Sonographer III duties as clinical/technical resource.
• Oversee accreditation and quality assurance processes.
• Manage accreditation applications and ongoing quality initiatives.
• Support staff leadership and development, including evaluations.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, and workflow in collaboration with leadership.
• Serve as liaison between sonographers and leadership and educate trainees.
• Advance operational, research and technology initiatives with investigators.

The sonographer lead will serve as the liaison between sonographers and leadership. They are also responsible for coordinating the sonographer schedule and coverage under the guidance of the manager and medical director. The sonographer lead is involved in accreditation applications and ongoing quality assurance projects. They are expected to provide constructive feedback to staff and input on staff performance evaluations, hiring, and corrective action.
