Job summary

Mass General Brigham offers a 40-hour Echo Sonographer position based at 140 Yarmouth Road, Hyannis, with travel to Orleans. You will perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms, review patient histories, prepare reports, and communicate findings to physicians.

You’ll maintain safety, quality, and patient comfort throughout exams. Requirements include an Associate’s degree in Sonography, BLS, and prior cardiac imaging experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Sonography required or equivalent.
• AHA BLS certification required.
• RDCS/ARDMS certification preferred; prior cardiac imaging experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs) and related studies.
• Review patient histories and imaging to ensure proper exam protocols.
• Prepare preliminary reports and communicate findings to physicians.
• Maintain equipment, rooms, and adhere to safety and privacy policies.
• Support patient comfort and positive experiences during exams.
• Participate in quality improvement and scheduling coordination.

While supporting the Cape Cod community, providers of the practice also support both Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Cottage Hospital, to bring cardiac care closer to home for patients and provide a bridge to Mass General Brigham academic medical centers where advanced care is needed!We are looking to hire a 40-hour Echo Sonographer for 10-hour shifts (6:30-5). Monday, Tuesday and Friday will be in Hyannis, and Wednesday will be in our Orleans location.Key Responsibilities1. Perform Comprehensive Cardiac Ultrasound ExamsIndependently perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), portable cardiac ultrasound studies, and contrast/bubble studies while acquiring diagnostic images for physician interpretation.2. Assess and Prepare Patients for ProceduresReview patient histories, prior imaging, and clinical information to ensure appropriate exam protocols and deliver safe, patient-centered care.3. Document and Communicate FindingsPrepare accurate preliminary reports and communicate relevant findings to interpreting physicians in a timely manner.4. Maintain Safety, Quality, and Compliance StandardsPrepare equipment and exam rooms, adhere to infection prevention and patient safety protocols, and comply with all privacy, departmental, and hospital policies.5. Support Exceptional Patient ExperiencesUtilize proper positioning and ergonomic scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort, safety, and a positive experience for patients and families.6.
