Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Capital Project Delivery to lead permitting strategies and environmental impact assessments for large-scale energy and tech projects in the Western Region. You will guide NEPA/CEQA compliance, advise developers, and drive project execution with multi-disciplinary teams.

You will manage budgets, mentor junior staff, and contribute to business development efforts while collaborating with ERM’s global experts to share best practices and deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental studies, planning, geography, or related natural resources field, or 8+ years equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of project management and permitting experience in energy, tech, or similar sectors across California or Arizona.
• Proven expertise in federal, state, and local permitting and planning, including NEPA and CEQA compliance.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills for preparing concise, accurate reports and presenting findings to stakeholders.
• Ability to manage project budgets and invoices, multiple priorities, mentor junior team members, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental impact assessments that influence project design and execution.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to developers, optimizing layouts and mitigating risks through innovative permitting solutions.
