Job summary

American K9 Detective Services is seeking a Lead Handler to oversee Handlers and canine teams, ensuring cargo screenings meet TSA regulations. The role includes supervising, training, and coordinating schedules to ensure coverage. You will maintain training records and manage canine care, including on-site and potentially home-station living arrangements where applicable.

The position requires U.S. citizenship, prior explosive-detection experience, and the ability to obtain required security

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Two years of documented experience handling an explosive detection dog in an operational environment preferred.
• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Must pass background checks and obtain required security clearances.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Handlers and canines at assigned locations.
• Oversee X-Ray, physical search, and trace detection duties as needed.
• Conduct canine training, audits, and administrative deliverables for Canine Teams.
• Coordinate post assignments and vacation relief to ensure coverage.
• Maintain training records and care for assigned canines.
