Job summary

American K9 Detective Services seeks a Junior Handler to support TSA-compliant cargo screening. The role includes completing a 4–8 week training and certification prior to mobilization to the assigned location, and performing duties related to X-Ray, search, and explosive trace detection while working with a trained canine.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens, able to obtain required clearances, and capable of lifting up to 100 lbs. Willingness to travel and work irregular hours is required.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required.
• Must obtain KTN within 4–6 weeks of employment.
• Must obtain SIDA badge and STA for airport badge within 4–6 weeks of employment.
• Must have valid driver’s license with clean record and REAL ID compliance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in CCSP training to search cargo and identify threats.
• Perform duties related to X-Ray, physical search, and explosive trace detection as needed.
• Operate trained working dog during duties.
• Maintain training records and canine care; canine may live in employee's residence under inspection.
• Maintain all job-related certifications and security clearances.
• Travel as required; work hours include nights, weekends, and holidays.
