Job summary

American K9 Detective Services is looking for a Junior Handler to screen cargo in compliance with TSA regulations. This role requires completion of a 4-8 weeks training course and certification. Responsibilities include conducting searches, managing training records, and caring for an assigned canine, which must live at the employee’s residence.

Candidates must have U.S. citizenship and a valid driver’s license, along with effective communication and organizational skills. This position requires working under varying conditions and may include travel.

Qualifications

• Must have held U.S. citizenship for a minimum of three years prior to application.
• Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license compliant with REAL ID standards.
• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Participate in CCSP training to search cargo and identify threats.
• Perform Junior Handler duties while commanding a trained working dog.
• Maintain training records and care for the assigned certified canine.
