Job summary

American K9 Detective Services is seeking a Junior Handler to support TSA cargo screening and related training. The role will involve operating with a trained canine, maintaining training records, and meeting security clearance requirements.

You will participate in a 4–8 week training program, obtain necessary certifications, and be prepared for variable work schedules including nights, weekends, and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen
• Must obtain KT N within 4–6 weeks of employment
• Must obtain SIDA badge within 4–6 weeks of employment
• Must obtain STA for Airport Badge within 4–6 weeks of employment
• Must have reliable transportation with climate-controlled vehicle
• Must pass applicable Contract Testing and Certifications within 4–8 weeks
• Valid US driver's license and satisfactory driving record; REAL ID compliant or valid US passport required

Responsibilities

• Participate in CCSP related training to search cargo and identify potential threats
• Conduct authorized representative duties related to X-Ray, physical search, and explosive trace detection
• Perform Junior Handler duties while commanding a trained working dog
• Maintain training records
• Maintain care and housing for assigned canine (canine may live at employee residence; residence must be adequate, indoor and climate-controlled; living area may be inspected)
• Maintain all job-related certifications and security clearances
• Operate company vehicle during on-site training
• Work varies from busy training to fieldwork with potential for irregular hours; nights, weekends, and holidays; travel may be required
• Other duties as assigned
