Job summary

Norfolk County Agricultural High School is seeking a LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE BUILDING MAINTENANCE - FOREPERSON to oversee campus facilities maintenance and contractor work. The role includes supervising trades such as HVAC and plumbing, performing custodial tasks as needed, and ensuring safety across all systems.

The foreperson position is essential for weather and other emergencies; expect overtime, weekend shifts, and security rounds as part of duties.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to communicate with people effectively.
• Dependability in attendance, work ethic, and productivity.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Maintains confidentiality in personnel and student matters.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel to meetings or workshops.
• Willingness to work overtime, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair hardware such as locks, hinges, faucets and handles.
• Paint, tile, repair doors/windows, replace glass and perform maintenance tasks.
• Ensure safety of all systems and tools; follow safe operating procedures.
• Assist with setup and takedown for meetings, graduations, and programs.
• Occasionally substitute for a security guard on weekends.
• Work overtime as required and be on call for emergencies.
• Make routine security rounds inside and outside the campus.
• Coordinate maintenance with contractors (HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
