Job summary

Ramapo College of New Jersey invites applications for a full-time Building Maintenance Supervisor. You will supervise a team responsible for cleaning, setup for events, and basic building repairs, ensuring safe, efficient operations and compliance with PPE requirements.

Two years of housekeeping experience with supervisory duties are required, along with strong English communication skills and a valid NJ driver’s license where applicable. The role emphasizes teamwork and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Two years of general housekeeping experience, with supervisory experience.
• Must be able to supervise a team and coordinate overtime and events.
• Ability to learn and use various recording and information systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect cleaning and maintenance needs and determine supplies required.
• Develop work plans and promote safe, efficient practices.
• Plan, organize, and assign unit work and supervise staff performance.
• Provide assignments and supervise completion of routine and overtime tasks.
• Oversee cleaning of desks, chairs, floors, and fixtures inside buildings.
• Supervise window washing and floor polishing activities.
• Maintain records of personnel, time, equipment, and work completed.
• Ensure safety and proper use of PPE and cleaning equipment.
• Learn and use college electronic/manual recording systems.
• Support overtime management and snow/ice removal as needed.
