Job summary

YMCA Camp Ocoee is seeking a Head Nurse for Summer 2027. The role manages the camp health and safety program, provides medical treatment, administers medications, and maintains health records in line with ACA and YMCA guidelines.

The season runs May 31 to July 31, 2027, including one week of training. The incumbent will supervise volunteer nurses, coordinate with the Senior Program Director, and uphold camp values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, Caring, and Faith while ensuring a positive,

Qualifications

• Must hold a registered nurse license with CPR/First Aid certification.
• Must be able to live onsite for 9 weeks of summer camp season.
• Must have valid Driver's License and pass a background check including MVR.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care and medical treatment for campers and staff.
• Performs assessments and administers immediate first aid.
• Maintains health records and documents medications per ACA YMCA guidelines.
• Communicates with parents regarding injuries and illnesses.
• Completes incident reports and follows up as needed.
• Oversees infirmary setup and inventory before and after the season.
• Orders supplies and maintains health-related equipment.
• Ensures health protocols and standing orders are followed.
• Supervises volunteer nurses and other medical staff as needed.
• Works with Senior Program Director to enforce camp policies and safety.
