Job summary

Wolfoods is seeking an experienced Assistant Kitchen Manager for a hands-on leadership role at a rural summer camp. This on-site, live-in position requires managing prep and production for designated day parts, supervising staff, and enforcing allergen safety.

Expect a demanding 6-day/70-hour week in a fast-paced kitchen, with competitive seasonal pay, bonus opportunities, and room & board provided for the contract duration.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a commercial kitchen leadership role with scratch and institutional/batch cooking experience.
• ServSafe Allergens certification required before start date; company-sponsored.
• Strong leadership and cooking skills; able to navigate iPad; versatile with ingredients; sharp problem solving.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, work in hot/cold kitchen settings, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ready to live on-site in a rustic setting and work a demanding minimum 6-day/70-hour week.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train kitchen staff; foster a high-energy, positive environment.
• Oversee operations: portion control, menu specs, scratch cooking execution, and timely meal service.
• Manage allergen protocols and maintain top Health Department sanitation standards.
• Manage inventory and assist with daily reporting.
• Serve as liaison between kitchen operations, campers, and camp leadership.
