Job summary

Books A Million is seeking a Café Lead to oversee daily café operations, train new baristas, and maintain overall café standards in our Barboursville location.

The role emphasizes customer service, adherence to merchandising and operation guidelines, and collaboration with the Store team to drive performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Customer service experience required.
• 18 years of age or older.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Successful completion of all background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Craft Joe Muggs Beverages according to quality standards.
• Maintain the Cafe Communication Binder daily.
• Maintain Visual Merchandising guidelines for Café merchandise.
• Complete the Weekly Inventory Sheet and submit to District Manager.
• Based on inventory, complete the café supply order.
• Assist Managers with training and development of baristas.
• Motivate Baristas to meet sales and service goals.
• Manage preventative maintenance tasks throughout the week.
• Promote company initiatives when interacting with customers.
• Provide the highest level of customer service.
• Monitor and maintain cafe conditions, including cleaning and upkeep.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Café Lead is responsible for ensuring the ongoing success of the café and its operation, including maintaining café conditions and training new baristas.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Craft Joe Muggs Beverages according to our quality standards and ensure standards stay in place.
• Ensuring daily use of the Cafe Communication Binder.
• Maintain Visual Merchandising guidelines for all Café related merchandise.
• Complete the Weekly Inventory Sheet and submit the final document to your District Manager.
• Based upon inventory findings, complete the café supply order.
• Assist Managers with the training and development of baristas
• Motivate Baristas to Increase Limited Time Offer Goals, DC, Auto Renewals, Comp Sales, MFM, and the Level of Customer Service in the Café and Bookstore.
• Manage the flow of Preventative Maintenance tasks to be completed throughout the week to ensure completion.
• Successfully promote all Company initiatives when interacting with customers.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to each customer.
• Monitor and maintain Cafe conditions according to company standards, providing a clean workplace which includes dusting, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, and assisting in the general maintenance of the building.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
