Job summary

Steele Solutions Inc. in Milwaukee, WI seeks a Drafting Supervisor to lead the drafting team under the Design Manager, ensuring timely production of precise drawings and plans that meet project specs.

You will mentor staff, enforce CAD standards (AutoCAD, TEKLA), coordinate with engineers and project managers, and drive process improvements to increase workflow efficiency and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting Technology, or related field (BA preferred).
• 5+ years in technical drafting; at least 2 years in supervisory/lead role.
• Proficient in CAD software, especially AutoCAD; TEKLA preferred.
• Strong engineering/architectural drawing standards knowledge.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise daily drafting team to meet deadlines and quality requirements.
• Review and approve technical drawings for accuracy and standards.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to clarify design requirements.
• Enforce drafting standards and best practices to improve productivity.
• Provide training and performance evaluations to drafting staff.
• Coordinate resource allocation and workload distribution.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends, tools, regulatory requirements.
