Horsepower Automotive Group (HPAG) in Chandler, AZ is seeking a CAD Designer Lead to turn bold ideas into manufacturable reality. You’ll create SolidWorks models, design complex sheet metal and tubular assemblies, and work closely with prototype engineering to move new products into production.

The role requires 3+ years in automotive/aerospace CAD design, machining knowledge, and fluency in English. On-site, full-time position with competitive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong SolidWorks skills; manage complex assemblies and sheet metal/tubular parts.
• 3 years of experience designing automotive or aerospace products.
• Experience with tooling and fixtures; translate 3D models into physical parts.
• Knowledge of machining processes for final parts.
• Experience collaborating with an engineering team and producing accurate drawings.
• Creative mindset with discipline to translate ideas into manufacturable assemblies.
• Self-motivated, assertive in a fast-paced shop with shifting priorities.
• Team-first attitude and fluent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD models in SolidWorks daily from templates or your designs.
• Build complex 3D sheet metal and tubular assemblies for manufacturing.
• Process 3D scans and create mesh models to drive new product development.
• Collaborate with prototype engineering to move products into automation and production.
• Incorporate revisions from open instructions and deliver final parts.
