Job summary

AAR in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Cabin Engineer, Lead to perform cabin/interiors engineering for transport category aircraft. You will design, analyze and document modifications, including seating, monuments, PSUs, flooring and panels, and coordinate with suppliers and internal teams.

The role requires hands-on drafting, interpretation of technical publications, and travel up to 10% internationally. AAR offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5 years of engineering design or analysis experience.
• Experience with commercial aircraft (Airbus or Boeing) required.
• Familiarity with FARs and the STC process.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/publications (SRM, AMM, IPC).
• Experience creating engineering details, assemblies and installation drawings using AutoCAD/Inventor.

Responsibilities

• Research new technology for seating and interior products to support lightweight, cost-efficient designs.
• Design and analyze cabin interior systems and components for interior modifications (STC projects).
• Gather data and develop original designs or adaptations under general guidance.
• Coordinate cabin interiors aspects of project schedules with PMs and engineers.
• Prepare modification/installation drawings, engineering reports, and work instructions.
