Job summary

MKS Inc is seeking a Principal Buyer in the United States to lead direct-material procurement for nuclear and highly regulated product lines. You will partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Program Management and suppliers to ensure supply continuity, regulatory compliance, quality, delivery and cost competitiveness.

This is a hands-on, strategic role for an experienced procurement professional who understands nuclear-related supply chains and can balance day-to-day buying with long-term

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, operations or equivalent.
• 8+ years of procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier management or supply chain experience.
• Strong direct material procurement experience in highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Proven ability to negotiate long-term contracts and supplier commitments.
• Experience with supplier qualification audits, corrective actions and risk management.
• Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.

Responsibilities

• Lead procurement activities for complex, highly engineered components and services.
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies optimizing cost, quality, delivery and compliance.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships, negotiations, and performance improvement.
• Identify and mitigate supply chain risks with capacity planning and dual sourcing.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Program Management on supplier qualification and NPI.
• Resolve material shortages, quality escapes, and lead-time constraints affecting delivery.
