Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Background clearance is required upon employment.
• Must have/maintain Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card on employment.
• Must hold/maintain a valid Arizona CDL with passenger and air brake endorsements.
• At least one year of school bus operation experience.
• Must understand and comply with traffic laws.
• Excellent driving record; annual MVRO check.
• First Aid certification and CPR training.
• Annual physical and DOT health card.
• Pass a drug screen as required.
• Must hold Arizona School Bus Driver Certificate.
• Able to pass bus driver agility tests (push/pull 50 lbs).
• Proficiency with computers and office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Drive as backup school bus driver for routes, trips and events.
• Maintain passenger management and enforce district conduct policies.
• Administer first-aid when needed; keep bus clean.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections per DOT rules.
• Record mileage and passengers transported; attend safety meetings.
• Support Transportation Supervisor and schedule monthly trainings.
• Provide CDL guidance and testing prep; track renewals.
