Job summary

Avondale Elementary School District is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure safe, timely bus service across the district. You will coordinate route planning, staffing, and compliance with regulations.

The role requires leadership experience in transportation, a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card, and the ability to communicate clearly with families and school teams. 1.0 FTE with full-time hours and district benefits.

Qualifications

Must have a High School diploma.
Must possess/maintain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Background clearance required.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Experience in school transportation, logistics, or fleet operations.
Two years of leadership and supervisory experience.
At least one year of experience operating a school bus and school bus equipment.

Responsibilities

Supervise bus drivers, aides, trainers, mechanics; coaching and performance monitoring.
Assist with hiring and evaluating drivers and bus aides.
Communicate route changes, delays and updates clearly and promptly.
Maintain knowledge of bus routes, field trips, schedules, and vehicle reservations.
Collaborate with district leaders to align supports and priorities.
Promote student transportation safety standards and procedures.
Investigate accidents and incidents; prepare required reports.
Create and facilitate training on rider verification and routing software.
Monitor fleet readiness with Lead Mechanic and coordinate maintenance.
Support district emergency transportation logistics.
