Job summary

GDI Ainsworth is seeking a Lead Building Technician in Tennessee to lead a team of building operation technicians. The role includes routine and specialized maintenance, painting, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and janitorial duties as needed to support client facilities.

You will oversee repairs, guide fellow technicians, and ensure safety and quality while coordinating with contractors. A strong maintenance background with leadership is essential for success in this multi-trade

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• 5+ years’ experience in maintenance with commercial experience.
• Ideally 1+ years of leadership involvement leading a maintenance support team.
• Skills in problem-solving, troubleshooting, and repairing or replacing faulty parts.
• Coordinating efforts to uphold operational standards.
• Responding promptly to maintenance issues.
• Blend of technical expertise and leadership skills.
• Prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Advanced organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance.
• Handle basic repairs and maintenance.
• Perform specialized maintenance work as required (heavy machinery, carpentry, roofing, etc.).
• Delegate and direct activities of outside contractors including QA and invoicing.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them.
• Complete electronic or paper-based maintenance records.
• Plan and direct maintenance operations under supervision.
• Problem solve for the team and provide hands-on training.
